Artist Statement
I look for subject matter where I can find a balance in loose, wet areas and dry, more detailed parts in a painting. I think I am drawn to both fish and birds because their shapes are simple. I can concentrate more on the medium, the colors, the movement, and the smaller details that bring the subject to life.
