About the Instructor
Dana Rau is an artist and writer who explores mediums of many kinds and relishes any chance for creative play. With a degree in creative writing and art history from Trinity College, and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, she is the author of more than 350 books for children and teaches classes in both writing and art. Rediscover the joy of art as we tap into our childhood creativity in this playful workshop. Break free from the pressure of perfection as we experiment with various materials on a large piece of paper, including paints, stamps, and mark-making tools like Posca acrylic pens and Tombo watercolor markers. We’ll transform our creations into a colorful and expressive book, embracing the spirit of adventure and stepping outside our comfort zones. Through cutting, folding, and binding, each participant will craft a unique piece reflecting their creativity. Amidst the messy and brilliant process, we’ll infuse the book with inspirational quotes, offering a space to reflect on the past and look forward to the future.
You’ll leave with a book that is full of surprises and a beautiful reflection of yourself.
